Visit Washington, Be an Advocate for Hunting on May 8th, 2014

capitolbgfirstforhunters030614On May 8th members of Safari Club International (SCI) will lobby Congressmen and women for legislation to improve hunting throughout the U.S. and internationally. The members of SCI will have a breakfast briefing and keynote address in preparation for face-to-face meetings with Senate and House members and discussions with legislative staff.  It is important that all of you, as members of SCI, attend lobby day, and encourage others to as well so that the voice of the hunter can be heard in the halls of Congress. You must register by April 18, 2014 by completing the small form below.

SCI will host Steve Guertin as our morning keynote before heading to Capitol Hill.  Mr. Guertin is the Deputy Director of Policy for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.  His remarks will address many of the issues important to SCI and will be followed by a question and answer period for all in attendance.  His participation is a special event on May 8th that we hope every SCI member will appreciate.

Following the morning address on May 8th, nearly 200 meetings will be organized so you can sit down with your members of Congress to discuss the importance of hunting in America and internationally.  SCI’s Congressional Lobby Day is a vital for overall advocacy efforts and this is the opportunity to make the hunters’ voice heard on the Hill. The grassroots involvement from SCI members enhances the presence and benefit of SCI’s D.C. office. While headquartered in Tucson, Ariz., SCI’s advocacy efforts are led by a team of attorneys, policy experts and dedicated hunters in Washington, D.C.
