CALL TO ACTION! HUNTERS SHOULD REGISTER FOR SCI LOBBY DAY
Safari Club International (SCI) invites hunters throughout the U.S. to once again participate in it’s annual lobby day on Thursday, May 7, 2015. SCI will organize over 200 Capitol Hill meetings for hundreds of SCI members when they come to town to lobby lawmakers House of Representatives and Senate. Now is the time to act, we need you, as a hunter, to speak with your elected officials about hunters’ rights!
The tide is beginning to turn in Washington, DC. The anti-hunting rhetoric is beginning to fall on deaf ears and real change is on the horizon. In the past month alone, we have seen huge victories for sportsmen everywhere:
- Two Senate hearings on the Bipartisan Sportsman’s Act of 2015. The Senate is where hunters have consistently been met with barriers to passage of this essential piece of legislation. We have started in the Senate this time to ensure a victory, and we are already on the way to a committee markup and a floor vote.
- The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) recently announced withdrawal of an ill-fated regulatory proposal to ban common rifle ammunition.
- Introduction of a legislative fix to the last year’s elephant import ban and the ban on sale of domestic ivory.
Now is the time when we need all hunters to come to Washington, DC and make the voice of the Hunters heard on Capitol Hill. Help Safari Club advocate on behalf of the 15 million Americans who hunt on May 7th.
