SCI Member Appointed to Tennessee Fish & Wildlife Commission

SwanTFWCOn March 11, 2015, Safari Club International (SCI) member Bill Swan of Dunlap, Tennessee, was confirmed by the Tennessee General Assembly to the Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission (TFWC). Bill was originally appointed by Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey.

Looking out for sportsmen and women in Tennessee isn’t anything new to Bill. His uncle, Chuck Swan, was the first Commissioner of Conservation for Tennessee serving from 1949-1952 and set up the TFWC. Prior to his uncle setting up the TFWC, each county had a game warden that controlled harvest seasons.

Bill is an active member of the SCI community. He is currently serving on several committees including, the Marketing & Public Relations, Ethics & Code of Conduct, and SCI-PAC. Besides SCI, Bill is also a member of the NRA, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, National Wild Turkey Foundation, and Ducks Unlimited.

SCI is proud to have Bill serve on the Tennessee Fish & Wildlife Commission and know he will be a great asset to help preserve our hunting heritage.
