capitolbgfirstforhunters030614Washington, D.C. – Safari Club International (SCI) expects a floor vote today in the U.S. House of Representatives today, on a combined bill of charitable tax incentives that will include H.R. 2807 the Conservation Easement Incentive Act of 2014. The federal income tax deduction has been vital for sportsmen and preserving our hunting heritage. The tax incentive helps private landowners across the country protect their land for future generations of hunters. Without it, hunting opportunities on private land run the risk of disappearing over time, and as an organization that is “first for hunters” we cannot sit idly by and allow this to happen. It is extremely important that hunters contact their Representative to let them know they support H.R. 2807.

H.R. 2807 was introduced on July 24, 2013 and has gained incredible bi-partisan support over the past year. Over 220 co-sponsors are currently attached to the bill. Now that support needs to hear the voice of 15.5 million American hunters, both thanking them and asking them to vote yes on H.R. 2807. If this important tax incentive for conservation is lost, fewer acres will be protected for future generations. Ask your Representative to support HR 2807 which would make the incentive permanent.
