SCI Members: Your Help is Needed!

As a member of SCI, you have learned the hard way that the Humane Society of the U.S. (HSUS), Defenders of Wildlife, and their ilk will stop at NOTHING to attack wildlife management at the ballot box.

Now they are back in Michigan, and this time they have targeted the management of wolves for attack. In fact, the HSUS has now poured nearly one million dollars into an effort to gather signatures for a 2014 ballot initiative to take away the authority of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to manage wildlife.  This is a serious threat to your hunting rights!

Michiganders will not stand idle in this fight! That is why state sportsmen have organized Citizens for Professional Wildlife Management (CPWM), to protect science-based management of Michigan’s wildlife. The CPWM coalition is fighting back, supporting its own ballot initiative that would not only protect science-based conservation, but also combat the serious ecological threat posed by Asian Carp.  It would also honor our nation’s heroes by ensuring that active-duty military personnel are eligible to receive free Michigan hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses.

HSUS has already invaded Michigan with an aggressive, paid campaign to gather the signatures it needs.  What Michigan hunters need now is the ability to fight dollar for dollar against HSUS! Please consider making a donation today at 100% of your donation will go to the fight in Michigan.   If you can’t contribute financially, we need your help as a volunteer. Signatures need to be gathered and only Michigan citizens can do this! Every hour you volunteer will help protect science-based wildlife management in Michigan – and your right to hunt.
