New York Legislation Seeks to Ban Youth Hunting Opportunities

ACTION ALERT:

LEGISLATION SEEKS TO BAN YOUTH HUNTING OPPORTUNITIES

New York SCI Members,

Call Governor Cuomo and ask that he VETO Representative Sweeny’s bill A10583A. This requires IMMEDIATE ACTION on your part to ensure that the youth of New York are afforded hunting opportunities next year. The bill could be signed into law as soon as tomorrow morning (Friday Dec. 6)

The legislation:

  • ELIMINATES youth firearms season prior to, and during archery season
  • RESTRICTS crossbow hunting opportunities

2012 marks the first year that a successful youth hunt has taken place. If you care about providing hunting opportunities for the youth of New York, please call Governor Cuomo’s office at (518) 474-8390 and ask that he VETO bill A10583A.
