SCI-CANADA PARTICIPATES AT FIRST MEETING OF NATIONAL HUNTING & ANGLING ADVISORY PANEL.

Representatives of eighteen invited Canadian hunting, trapping and fishing organizations met Friday at the Department of the Environment in the nation’s capital to hammer out terms of reference for the new Advisory Panel and to chart its agenda. On behalf of SCI-Canada, Bob Valcov spoke about the importance of recognition by the general public and governments of the fact that hunting and hunters are an essential tool in wildlife and habitat conservation. The Panel was created by Prime Minister Harper to serve as a long-term advisory body designed to ensure government decisions are based on science and balanced advice.
